Fabric Love

My Christmas Present to myself

I've had this fabulous giant bow made for Christmas, it's made by kikabespoke.com

Simone is the creative genius behind this luxury brand of bespoke cushions, curtains and dog beds.

For Christmas, she came up with the idea of creating large scale bows in sumptuous velvets. You can view them on her website. Because I love this Black Chinoiserie fabric so much, I asked her if she'd make me a bespoke bow with it.

I love it!

There's more of this fabric available to buy on this website. As it's an upholstery weight fabric, it holds the shape perfectly  🎀

If you'd like one made or you're clever enough to make your own, just type 'Black Chinoiserie' into the Search bar or scroll through the Fabric pages to find it.

It's made my Christmas!

Something simple but very beautiful

Marton - Embroidered fabric from Clarke & Clarke

I just want to show you this embroidered fabric  because it's pretty special.

It’s now discontinued, and I have a small remnant of 1.45 metres for sale.

It was from a series of designs included in ‘The Tatton Linen Collection’. The fabric is a Linen/Viscose mix and drapes beautifully, but the most striking thing about it is the colour of the embroidery. Basically, you could describe it as Green and Red, but it’s much more vibrant than that. The Green is almost Chartreuse, and the Red is the colour of Fuchsia flowers.

The Trellis design makes it a perfect partner fabric for florals

🎀

From my personal experience of selling fabrics, it seems that less ornate designs, such as this one, get overlooked. Blousy florals, Big Designer brands and colourful designs are usually the first fabrics to be snapped up. But honestly, you’re missing a trick if you overlook this one. If I had to describe it to you in three words, I’d say : Elegant, Classic, Vibrant.

Vintage Jonelle 'Fanfare' Fabric. The detail in this is wonderful, it's full of exotic animals, people, musical instruments and flowers. I'm guessing this is from the 1960s, but I'm no expert. I've done a fair bit of research to find this design, but no luck so far. If anyone knows its history please get in touch, I'd love to know more about it. The fabric is in great condition for its age, no damage, it just needs laundering and a good blow on the washing line to freshen it up. Hopefully I can get this ready for sale within the week. There's enough here to make small curtains, or a blind, a throw or cushions 🤞

SOLD

This beautiful vintage fabric has been snapped up before I had chance to prepare it for sale. One of my regular customers who likes this kind of fabric contacted me to say she'd love it!

Close up details - because little things mean a lot! 🎀

Gold & Green French Braid

I just wanted to share this beautiful braid with you. It's currently for sale in the Trimmings section. I've photographed it laid on top of a very small remnant of Indienne Peacock by Sanderson. I'm planning on making a cushion with the fabric, but just thought I'd show you how well this lovely trim goes with the colours. There's a lot of detail in the trim, and personally I'd use it on a simple background; a plain fabric or stripes. It would work well on a lampshade or cushion. It's rather ornate, so if you have a plush, country house - style or bohemian interior it will look at home! 🎀
