My love of Roses

My love of Roses

The Rose Garden

This glorious design is
Marlow by Swaffer
for sale on my website
When I look at this, I imagine: summer, cottage gardens, sunshine and bees, ladies in straw hats, afternoon tea on the lawn....
In short, its pure nostalgia!
I can see this fabric used as curtains in a rose covered cottage or  Miss Marple's bedroom in her thatched cottage in St. Mary Mead!
I'm getting a little carried away! 😄

What I'm trying to say, is, there is something comforting and nostalgic about rose designs.
 Why do we say
' Looking through Rose tinted glasses '  ?
Because we look upon something fondly, with pleasure and love?

Romance

Obviously roses are also considered as romantic, a connection that apparently originates from Aphrodite; legend says that her beauty was so great, roses grew wherever she walked!

I love roses and we try to grow as many as possible in the garden.
And if you've ever visited David Austin Roses, you'll understand when I say it's like being in 'Rose Heaven'
If you're lucky enough to have roses in your garden, you'll appreciate my love of them. In the Spring when they start to bud, they fill me with hope, and once they come into bloom I can't get enough of them!
It's pretty much the same with fabric!
If the decision was mine alone, I'd have rose designs all over the house!
In the interest of domestic harmony however, I've managed to limit them to the bedrooms only! 😄
